Glass exit portals: Security to leave the airport
Mon Dec 2, 2013
In reply to: Andrew Lanz-Ketcham #5 Yep, this would work exactly as required, without high-tech repairs or high-tech costs. Amusement parks have been doing this for decades.
Australian mayor to Justin Bieber over star's graffiti: 'Clean up your mess'
Thu Nov 28, 2013
Keep in mind that the hotel may be saying they gave him prior permission in order to avoid alienating Beiber (and potentially other famous customers) who spend more money than it'll cost to fix the damage. It's a smart business move, but it does enable people like him to continue doing stuff like th …
2,500-acre wildfire near Camp Pendleton is cooled by winds
Mon Oct 7, 2013
To be fair, we probably should keep illegal immigrants from sneaking onto our military bases and setting fires. That said, your comment is a ridiculous attempt to slip a right-wing talking point into a discussion about a wildfire burning on Camp Pendleton.
Why can't anyone sue the United Nations?
Thu Sep 26, 2013
Common Man - Right, 8,500 survivos of the Haitian quake gave their lives so that the other survivors could sue. Brilliant. And seriously, "community organizer" scam? That's the most pathetic attempt to link a tragedy to President Obama I've seen in quite some time. Kudos to you. And as for Krazymop, …
'Under God' likely to remain in pledge despite latest challenge, attorney says
Sun Sep 8, 2013
Here's a thought experiment that might help explain the objection: let's change the phrase "under God" in the pledge, to "under Allah". It's still the same phrase, it just uses the Muslim word for God. You don't have to say it if you don't want to. Still okay with having it in the pledge?
Boston suspects intended second attack in Times Square, New York officials say
Thu Apr 25, 2013
Innocent until proven guilty. It's the backbone of our legal system. Is he guilty? Probably, but he hasn't been convicted of a crime (yet). You can't let emotion rule your decisions when it comes to the treatment of someone who hasn't been judged by a jury of their peers. Torturing someone when they …
Sanford, Colbert sister advance in South Carolina special primary
Tue Mar 19, 2013
Ah, yes, "leave judgement to God", a favorite refrain so often heard from Republicans whenever one of their own gets caught with their hand in their cookie jar of choice. It isn't the opinion I scoff at, it's the fact that they seem quite willing to throw the first stone when it's a Democrat in the …
Hospital granted dad's request: no black nurses, lawsuit says

'Gay-free' prom idea backfires on supporters in Indiana town
Mon Feb 11, 2013
How is prohibition of gays automatically equate to fear rather than what they feel is for the common good of the event. I'm sure there are more parents who are not accepting of homosexuality. Why should they be?
Police: Drunk driver causes 15 crashes, kills woman, smashes into restaurant
Thu Jan 24, 2013
I do love the anti-gun-control posts trying to liken this situation to theirs. What they don't realize is that they're actually A) advocating for mandatory licensing, liability insurance and periodic retesting; and B) comparing themselves as gun owners to drunk drivers. "Please proceed, Governor..."
